Our Journey
Polka Dot Teapot has been a creative force since 2013, starting as a handmade jewellery page before evolving into fashion-inspired watercolour art. In 2020, amid the challenges of the pandemic, our focus shifted to the metaphysical world. It began with a magical herbs watercolour illustration, leading to requests for crystals and astrology themes. The momentum grew, culminating in the creation of our first magical journal, a pre-order success.
The journey continued with the introduction of themed journals, stickers, and the 2021 launch of our best-selling crystal information cards. Overwhelmed by demand, we opened our website, underwent a digital illustration transition in 2022, and expanded into wholesale and digital downloads. In 2023, we've broadened our offerings with collaborations, mystery boxes, and the launch of our blog.
Behind the Business
Polka Dot Teapot is a one-woman show, operated and owned by me, Laura. I handle everything from design and manufacturing to social media, customer service, and shipping. Supporting me in this adventure is Dan, my partner, providing crucial website support and occasional post runs. Our team is complete with Aries, chief of puppy post and the heartwarming face of our social media. A Romanian rescue pup, Aries arrived in December 2020 and has become a star in his own right, conquering fears and even joining us on parcel shop runs. Look out for the "puppy post" sticker on your parcel—it's a celebration of Aries overcoming his fear and a nod to his role in our small business journey. 🐾✨
